When time permits Mai Wyn Schantz does accept commissions for oil paintings on stainless steel. If you are interested in a custom piece, here’s a little information about the process…

  • Expect to pay a little more for custom work…commissions typically run about 20% higher than an existing painting of the same size
  • Commissions usually take 6-8 weeks to complete, depending how many commissions are currently in process.  A basic contract is signed by both parties outlining the commission in terms of price, subject matter, palette, timeline and shipping/delivery considerations
  • A 50% deposit is required to begin a commission and guarantee completion date
  • Please note: Mai Wyn does not make replicas of already exiting works, however a commission may be “inspired” by an existing work
  • Mai Wyn reserves the right to turn down commissions that do not reflect her personal aesthetic. Her subject matter is typically landscape, animal or otherwise nature-based. In other words, she does not paint hot rod cars on stainless steel
  • Provide a good quality, frontal photograph of the desired location along with some dimensions and we can often mock up how a painting will look in your space. This is a wonderful tool if you are a little unsure of what you want…we are always happy to make suggestions and provide options
